Les cornettes is in Sachseln, a village in the canton of Obwalden, central Switzerland, on the shore of Lake Sarnen. Besides its alpine scenery, the village is known for the Parish Church of St. Theodul and Nicholas of Flüe, which preserves the relics of Saint Nicholas of Flüe.
Its proximity to Lucerne and the Alpine passes makes Sachseln a practical starting point for exploring both the lakeside scenery of central Switzerland and the nearby mountains of the canton of Obwalden.
