Hotel Natureza is on Rua Oseas Vieira Passos, in Anapurus, in the east of the state of Maranhão, near the border with Piauí. The region is part of the so-called Matopiba, an expanding agricultural frontier spanning parts of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia.
Anapurus combines the transitional landscape between cerrado and caatinga, with an economy increasingly tied to large-scale grain production, a phenomenon that has significantly transformed Maranhão's interior in recent decades.
