Hotel e pousada hilda is on the MA-381 road, in Joselândia, in the interior of Maranhão, in the Baixada Maranhense region. This area is a vast floodplain, cut through by rivers such as the Mearim, with a seasonally flooded landscape that sustains rich biodiversity.
The Baixada Maranhense is designated as a wetland of international importance, and the local economy combines fishing, extensive cattle ranching and agriculture, all adapted to the region's characteristic cycle of floods and dry periods.
